I heard someone say once that to get past the point of being an amateur artist you must keep creating art.
It makes sense.
But how to make art, knowing that it is amateur, without becoming discouraged.
Do you share even the things which you know are amateur? Or do you create in the dark and wait to bring it to the light?
And what if you reach a point where you feel you are no longer amateur? Only to discover a few years later that even then, you were still just a beginner.
Though I suppose it should be a good thing to realize that in art, you may typically only find increase. Increase of confidence. Of clarity. Of voice.
And then, when I look at what I really know, it should not matter if I am a good artist or not. I am merely a created thing of the Master Creator. And anything good that I may create is a product of Grace and evidence of God, Himself.
