At 22, our moms were married. And at 24, they had me and you. Yes, this may be true.
But when will we stop believing that we are somehow behind; as if there is any timeline better than this?
As if there is another story that could be unfurling right now;
this is the story; this is what is.
And maybe my mother was married at 23 and maybe that is her wish for me,
maybe that is your wish for me,
but that is not the case for me.
I, too, get caught in the feeling sometimes that I am somehow falling behind. But how could I really? If life is not measured by what I have, but one thing.
If not by success
or money,
but one thing.
If I am looking earnestly with my eyes locked on the King, there is only one thing, and that is Him. And wrapped within Him, within His hands, a perfectly unfolding plan, a love-drenched story, never falling behind, each chapter beginning in perfect time.
